Alden Tyrell Dexter

Clone records is one of most influential electro / techno labels from the Netherlands and is constantly releasing high quality music. The label exists since the mid '90s and started out as outlet for DJ Serge his own musical creatures. But after opening up the Clone record store in Rotterdam in '96 Serge did get so many contacts and heard so much great music from friends in and around Rotterdam that he felt it was his duty to release all the good music he heard!! He has been working very close together with I-f and Unit Moebius who also worked with their own labels (Bunker and Hotmix/Viewlexx) in the mid '90s and these three labels became known as the influential underground labels from Den Haag/ the Netherlands. Many international dj's played the releases of labels such as Clone who where at that time still pretty obscure for the big audience. Slowly Clone became more and more respected and released more and more classic releases! Clone was one of the first labels releasing electro at a time straight techno and house was the thing to do (The time when techno and house was becoming a formula and was getting a little boring). Clone was among the first labels who released music from I-f and Adult. Clone is a label that does not care about commercial releases but just cares for phat bad ass tracks wich are satisfying for themselves even if it's a little different then anything else on the market!

Last years Clone released some amazing music by Dexter, Adult., Alden Tyrell, Duplex, Drexciya, The Other People Place, Mocky , I-f , Cosmic Force, Bangkok Impact, Legowelt, Tiefschwarz and many others.

They released the already classic (and almost cult) albums "We still kill the old way" (var/art.) and "Grava 4" (the last album of legendary detroit band Drexciya). In this last year Clone released albums of Bangkok Impact, Putsch 79 and Legowelt. Also there is always a constant flow of amazing 12"s with many new talented artists and welknown names aswell! Expect in the future more pure and high quality electro, techno, disco and house from Rotterdam.

Serge
Serge is the owner of Clone. He runs his record store and mailorder business along a distribution company (which distributed labels such as Bunker, Viewlexx, Creme, Klakson, Eat This, Murdercapital and many others) and he runs his two record labels Clone records and DUB recordings.

He has been collecting music since 1987 when he got hit by the early Chicago and Detroit sounds and has been playing in Dutch clubs and parties ever since.

Since the early '90s he has been one of the influential Dutch underground dj's playing high quality dance music and has been dj'ing as resident in a holiday club since the early '90s on the west coast of Holland.

Alden Tyrell Live
Alden Tyrell is the man of modern classics like Love explosion, Phaze me and Obsession. He works and live in Rotterdam and produces for Clone and Viewlexx. Alden Tyrell has its roots in Hip hop and discos and produces music since he could understand how to put on a synthesizer. In the mid eighties he was producing raw hip hop and electro and was producing mixes which where broadcasted on the legendary Ferry Maat soul show on the national dutch radio (a radio show where many of the todays dutch dj's and producers got their first airplay in the '80s with its weekly mix contest...). Today Alden Tyrell is working on many projects (we can not reveal to much of his secrets...so we won't give project names) and he is doing the mastering for all the Clone and DUB releases. Beside that he is also I-f's partner for the I-f and Parallax corporation live shows and he did do several remixes like last years amazing Jolly music remix for Sony and a bad ass remix/megamix on I-f's Space Invaders are smoking grass 12". His tracks got licensed for the Dave Clarke world service mix album and several other compilations like the classic I-f - mixed up the Hague CD.

Dexter Live
Dexter started dj-ing because he could'nt breakdance. Friends of his older sister used to have a breakdance crew and were the dutch champions back in the '80s. He used to go along to their battles and practice sessions, but to watch the DJ. He couldn't afford the price their DJ was asking for mix tapes .... so he stole them during their practice sessions, copied them and returned them sneakily. He studied them, obsessed by this music they called "space". ....electro.

After visiting the famous Dutch label Lower East Side Records he released his first track on vinyl called "Sound So Good" under his own name, Remy Verheijen.

In 2000 he started Klakson Records together with Steven de Peven and Steffi to create a label to get away from more serious 'purist' styles of electro. His first 2 releases "I Don't Care" and "Intruder" instantly became hits and were quickly licensed on all the biggest electro compilations.
